DBScribe I have used DBScribe to generate documentation for my oracle tables. I found it be very useful. Only disadvantage is that it is very memory intensive. I am having 512 Mb RAM in my PC. When I ran it for all the objects of a schema and chose MS Word as a format for the documentation the system hangs when it is building the file. I had to chose the CHM format. One more suggestion I would like to give is that there should be an option select or deselect schema objects in one go instead of going about clicking them ...

AA does greatly improve the quality of the genealogical reports I can prepare from my GEDCOM files. I\'m still learning but like what I see so far. I thought it might allow me to build reports where in I use nested PDF\'s with hyperlinks connecting them all. But it appears this is not possible with this software. Given that it didn\'t meet those expectation, which expectations were probably unrealistic, I am still impressed with its functionality. thanksMLS
Ancestral Author Review Ancestral Author created a beautiful PDF file but it's not what I needed. I was looking for a way to publish the info to my web site so that it hyperlinks to other pages on my web site. Would definitely recommend it for someone who needs a family tree pdf.

DBScribe Review Hmmm... other than some erratic behavior and performance that seems a bit slow, I rather like this tool. It pulls everything, and puts it into a nicely linked HTML file - which works quite well. I notice that it doesn't save reliably in other formats (it does four formats - HTML, web, Word, and Compiled Help Module (CHM). A few strange quirks - it defaults to selecting all databases on the target server, rather than none. It insists that you enter the full file path for the output document, even if it shows it's selected a particular destination folder. And, ...
Disappointed Kept getting errors when trying to create the documentation.

Unable to connect to database I work on a windows machine with a debian linux server that hosts the database. I was unable to connect to the database in the same way as I can using the MySQL GUI tools, it kept giving type mismatch errors or similar. As a result it was a complete waste of time for me.

Installation Too Complex The Windows installation process is too involved.I'm looking for a simpler solution.
Open XSD via URL, Appinfo`s Hanndling and err The same content below has been send to support@docflec.com, hopefully I will some advice eventually.1) Open XML / XSD thru URLIn DocFlex/XML Generator, so far only physical files are allowed to be opened, any plan in the future release to make the function available from URL, for instance, www.somecompany.com.au/someschema.xsd?Being able to open XSD file through URL is mandatory in my evaluation criteria. 2) Handling of under According to W3C XML Schema Definition Language [1], can have children elements and .But in implementation, I found only is handled, underneath especially such as and of ...
Works for Me It definitely solved my problem of compiling documentation for my 10+ XML Schemas into a single document. The document ended up to be 200 pages long but it was complete. The interface was a little rough but it works great. One aspect I like about the final product is that it follows the document links with page numbers. These are great when the doc is converted to PDF or some other format where the links may not work anymore.
